Features Vs. Benefits – The Showdown

by IttyBiz

Here’s a great article that helps your understand the difference between a feature and a benefit..

I would love to start by saying, “There are two types of people in the world…” but that would be both clichéd and inaccurate. There really are only two types:

Those who understand “Features Vs. Benefits” and those who don’t.

If you don’t get it, that’s OK. Not a lot of people really do. But if you run a business, you need to learn. Otherwise you (or your marketing consultant) will waste many precious and expensive hours trying to sell the wrong things.

What you need to know: A benefit results from a feature.

Check out the article here…

This is so critical–no matter what you are selling or promoting! Most customers initially do not want to know the technical details of the features of your product. They just want to know how that product will benefit them. Then, once you have their interest, you can to into the details of the features.

In this age of instant everything, your potential customers are in a hurry. You only have split seconds to distinguish your product or service from all the others–especially online, So, toot the benefits first!

Customers by benefits! Not features. A gizmo might have all these great features: gps capabilities, swiss army knife built in, video camera. But if these features are of no benefit to the consumer, it will not be purchased!!

It’s about time this be distinguished!! Thanks!

This design is spectacular! You certainly know how to keep a reader entertained. Between your wit and your videos, I was almost moved to start my own blog (well, almost…HaHa!) Excellent job. I really loved what you had to say, and more than that, how you presented it. Too cool!

Have you ever thought about including a little bit more than just your articles? I mean, what you say is important and everything. But think of if you added some great graphics or video clips to give your posts more, “pop”! Your content is excellent but with images and video clips, this blog could undeniably be one of the very best in its niche. Terrific blog!

Write more, thats all I have to say. Literally, it seems as though you relied on the video to make your point. You definitely know what youre talking about, why waste your intelligence on just posting videos to your site when you could be giving us something informative to read?
