This has been a wonderful year for new opportunities, to profit with an online business.

We have seen some old strategies die this year (like comment linking and similar SEO tactics ) while newer strategies have evolved and matured into full on business accelerators.

If you are not already “taking full advantage” of these strategies, getting them implemented within the first 90 days of 2012 could be the best thing that you ever do for your business and your income.

1. Social Networking – Using social media networks such as Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn have matured into highly effective ways to find new customers. In the past these have been viewed by many as huge time-wasters, but the time has come to jump on board and use this strategy to grow your business.

2. Blogging – Those that have really embraced this strategy are really enjoying some great success. Blogs are now being used everyday to create lists of loyal followers and to launch new products. It’s sad to see so many people doing this strategy incorrectly and getting dismal results when they are just 1 or 2 small shifts away from turning this into a huge business accelerator. The more value you give to your readers the more value you will receive in return.

3. List Marketing – Ok, this is not a new one. In fact, we have been recommending this one since 1999. But, it shocks me how many people are leaving good money on the table by ignoring their list or not building one in the first place. Our list is easily responsible for producing 80% of our monthly sales. How much money are you losing by not doing this in your business?

4. Pre-selling – There is a common belief among some less experienced marketers that if you build it they will come. Yet when they launch their product, nobody buys. Failed launch after failed launch proves that you must determine that a market exists and they are willing to buy before spending all the money and effort to launch a product. Pre-selling is strategy that you can use to prove that a product will sell before spending a dime to produce and launch it.

5. Integration Partners – People spend countless hours optimizing their websites for Google and the other search engines only to achieve a handful of daily visitors that don’t buy anything. An integration partner is a business that already caters to your perfect target audience with a non-competing product. By partnering with this kind of business and sharing the revenue, you get instant access to hew customers.

Get 60 Minutes Of My Time For Free

As my New Year’s gift to my valued readers, I have put aside the time over the next 2 weeks to do a limited number of 1 on 1 consultations to help you to create an accelerated game plan for your new or existing online business.

Those that have worked with me in the past know that I have some very unconventional yet highly effective methods for getting business results fast.

The next 25 people that click this link and fill out the form will receive a 60 minute phone call from me personally, free of charge.

Have a safe and enjoyable New Year celebration!

To your online success,

As I’m sure many of you have already realized, how to get hundreds or even thousands of potential buyers to visit your website is a huge issue for online business owners.

When I started my first online business back in 1999 it averaged only 10 visitors per day for months until I finally learned how to bring in more visitors. In fact, I had learned multiple methods for bringing potential buyers to my website.

Most people focus only on getting listed in the top Google results which is only ONE of many methods of traffic generation that we teach in our courses.

The problem is that getting listed in Google (and the other search engines) can seem like it is taking forever to happen when you are starting out. And then, when it does come, it is never enough.

Sound familiar?

A few weeks ago, while speaking to our Internet Entrepreneur Club members on our weekly training webinar, I covered 7 different ways that you can promote and advertise your online business to bring in more potential members.

Here is a video clip of that training that will explain how to bring in hundreds of new potential buyers to your business each day for just pennies … INSTANTLY!

Click here to watch the video

Using the strategies that I show you in the video, you can literally get hundreds of new visitors to your website within the next 24 hours. I hope you give it a try this weekend.

Watch your email for another great business promotion strategy next week.

Have a great weekend!

Have you claimed your listing in Google Maps and made sure the information it displays is accurate? If not, you need to do it NOW — even if you don’t …

Have you claimed your listing in Google Maps and made sure the information it displays is accurate?
If not, you need to do it NOW — even if you don’t have a website yet. This step is vital.

Local Search — including sites such as Google Maps, Yahoo Maps, and Bing Maps — is quickly becoming one of the most dominant sources of online traffic. The local search market already generates about $33 billion a year — and with the growing popularity of smartphones such as iPhones, Blackberries, and Droids, it’s about to get a whole lot bigger — FAST.

That’s because people who have smartphones search differently online. If they’re looking for a nearby business, chances are they won’t use the regular Google search engine — they’ll use Google Maps instead. Many of their smartphones have built-in GPS capabilities and can automatically determine the location where the user is. And that information gets transmitted to Google Maps, which can then automatically show them there particular businesses are in relation to their location.

For example, say you’re on holiday in Puerto Vallarta and you’re craving Chinese food. With a GPS-capable smartphone you can simply type “chinese restaurants” into your Google Maps application and your smartphone will automatically show you where the nearest Chinese restaurants are. You don’t have to type in your address — or even know what it is.

… You have to admit, that’s a pretty cool way to get information.

Here’s how you do it…

1. Go to Google Maps and run a search for your business. You should be listed, unless your business is so new it’s not even listed in the local Yellow Pages yet. When you see your listing, click on the “more info” link.

Here’s how you do it…

1. Go to Google Maps and run a search for your business. You should be listed, unless your business is so new it’s not even listed in the local Yellow Pages yet. When you see your listing, click on the “more info” link.

2. Click on the link that says, “business owner.”

3. You will be taken to a page in Google’s Local Business Center where you can add, edit, or suspend listings. Click on the “edit my business information” option.

4. You’ll be shown a long screen of information that you can edit and add in. Make the most of this listing. Not only can you make sure your phone number and address are correct, you can also add an email address, your website URL (if you already have one — if not, don’t worry, you can return and add this information in later), your hours of operation, your payment options, and photos of your business. You can even add up to five YouTube-hosted videos to your listing!

6. Make sure the information about your business is correct and then click the “submit” button at the bottom of the page, Google will want to validate that you are the owner of your listing.

Want to make more money online? Increase your conversions? Build your opt-in list? Get more leads?

Well have you tried pop-ups?

The Marketing Experiments research laboratory recently revealed dramatic test results for a lead-generation opt-in form on a credit counselling site. The pop-up version attracted 63% more leads than the control version, which was a standard opt-in form on the web page.

The Marketing Experiments people figured this was a pretty radical experiment because they knew how much website visitors hate pop-ups.

We’ve never been quite so leery about the things.

Our own long experience at the Internet Marketing Center shows that pop-ups can easily yield double-digit improvements in opt-ins and click-throughs, as long as you don’t overuse them.

Yeah, of course you hate pop-ups… but get over it. The in-your-faceness that makes them so irritating is the very thing that makes them so effective. For at least couple of seconds, they cannot be ignored!

Or at least, they can’t be ignored if they’re actually seen. Pop-up blockers see to it that any old-style pop-ups don’t pop up. But the alternative, Hover Ads, are actually part of the web page being viewed, so pop-up blockers have no effect on them. (Our own Hover Ad Creator software is on special at up to 50% off right now.)

So if you’ve been avoiding pop-ups or Hover Ads just because everybody hates them, why not grit your teeth and test them out? You might just find that more of your visitors will do exactly what your call to action tells them to… even though they hate pop-ups too.

A Guest Post by Brian Tracy, best-selling author of The Psychology of Achievement. Our new online magazine, StartUp, features an in-depth interview with Brian on how to manage your time and get more done.

People often ask me what the difference is between a success and a failure. For me, the answer is simple. A successful person knows how to set goals and work to achieve them. An unsuccessful person doesn’t.

The payoff for setting goals and making plans is being able to choose the kind of life you want to live. So why do so few people set goals? I think that there are five basic reasons why people don’t set goals — and thereby deprive themselves of the successful life they could be leading:

Reason #1: They’re not serious

Whenever I speak with a man or woman who has achieved something remarkable, I learn that the achievement occurred after that person decided to “get serious.” Until you become completely serious and totally determined about your goals, nothing really happens.

Reason #2: They don’t get the importance of goals

Many people don’t understand the importance of goal-setting. We find that young men and women who begin setting goals very early in life invariably come from families in which the importance of goals is emphasized. The discussion that takes place around your family dinner table is one of the most powerful formative influences in your life.

If your parents didn’t have goals, didn’t talk about goals, didn’t encourage you to set goals, and didn’t talk about people outside the family circle who had goals and were moving toward a higher level of achievement, then you very likely grew up with the idea that goals are not even a part of normal existence. This is the case for most people. And for many years, it was the case for me.

Reason #3: They don’t know how

The third reason people don’t set goals is that they don’t know how to do it. One of the greatest tragedies of our educational system is that you can receive years of education in our schools and never once receive a single hour of instruction on how to set goals.

Yet we find that in certain schools where goal-setting programs have been introduced since first grade, young people become excited about goal-setting — even if the goal is only to increase the scores by 5% or 10% over the course of the semester, or to be on time every day in the course of a month. Children become so excited about achieving goals that by the third or fourth grade, they love to go to school. They get the best grades. They are seldom absent. They are excited about themselves and about their lives.

So encourage your children to set worthwhile and realistic goals from an early age.

Reason #4: Fear of Rejection

The fear of rejection is caused by destructive criticism in early childhood and is manifested, in adulthood, in the fear of criticism by others. Many people hold back from setting worthwhile goals because they have found that every time they do set a goal, somebody steps up and tells them that they can’t achieve it, or that they will lose their money or waste their time.

Because each of us is strongly influenced by the opinions of those around us, one of the first things that you must learn when you begin setting goals is to keep your goals confidential. Don’t tell anyone about them. Often, it’s the fear of criticism that, more than any other single factor, stops you from goal-setting in the first place.

So keep your goals to yourself, with one exception. Share your goals only with others who are committed to achieving goals of their own and who really want you to be successful and achieve your goals as well. Other than that, don’t tell anybody about your goals, so no one is in a position to criticize you, or to discourage you from setting your goals.

Reason #5: Fear of Failure

This is perhaps the most important reason of all… People don’t set goals because they are afraid that they might fail. In fact, the fear of failure is probably the greatest single obstacle to success in adult life.

The primary reason you fear failure is simply this: You probably do not understand the role that failure plays in achievement. The fact is that it is impossible to succeed without failing. If you wish to fulfill your potential, you have to be willing to risk failure over and over and over, because there is no way that you can ever accomplish worthwhile goals until you have fallen on your face so many times that you have eventually learned the lessons that you need for great achievement.

Setting well-defined goals enables you to channel your efforts and focus your energy toward something that’s important to you. Goal-setting gives you a target to aim at and enables you to develop the self-discipline to continue working toward your target, rather than becoming distracted and going off in other directions.
