Affiliate By The IMC Team | Posted February 23rd, 2009
An affiliate is a person who markets another company’s products or services. Affiliates can drive traffic to a merchant’s website, or they can make sales on that merchant’s behalf, in exchange for a percentage of the profits.
There are two types of affiliate programs:
* One-tier affiliate program: the affiliate sells product for another business in exchange for a percentage of the profits
* Two-tier affiliate program: the affiliate sells product for another business and recruits new affiliate members. Affiliates receive a percentage of their own sales, as well as a smaller percentage of their recruits’ sales.
Running an affiliate program is a great way to boost sales revenue at just a small cost.
