PageRank By | Posted February 23rd, 2009

Google PageRank is a powerful tool Google uses to judge the “importance” of web pages it has indexed. You can look at the PageRank of any site (and your own!) using the Google toolbar that you can download for free at toolbar.google.com.

Google assigns PageRank on a scale of 1 (low) to 10 (high) based on:

  • How many high-ranking, relevant sites link to the site in question, and…
  • How closely the content of those sites relates to the content of the site in question.

In other words, if sites with high PageRank link to your site, they’ll raise the PageRank of YOUR site! In general, sites with a high Google PageRank appear higher in the search engine results.

  1. Hello there! Do you know if they make any plugins to protect against hackers? I’m kinda paranoid about losing everything I’ve worked hard on. Any recommendations?

  2. Do you have a spam problem on this blog; I also am a blogger, and I was wondering your situation; many of us have created some nice methods and we are looking to exchange solutions with other folks, be sure to shoot me an e-mail if interested.

  3. Hi there just wanted to give you a quick heads up and let you know a few of the images aren’t loading correctly. I’m not sure why but I think its a linking issue. I’ve tried it in two different internet browsers and both show the same outcome.
