Tags

Tags can refer to a number of different things in the online world. HTML tags are used to start and end HTML code strings, and these tags look like this: <>. A tag can also be attached to different elements of your web page including pictures, blog entries, videos, and links. Putting keywords in these tags allows the search engines to easily classify your site.

So if you tag a picture on your site with the keyword “riding boots,” then someone searching Google for the words in this tag will be able to find your photo.

Tag can also refer to a type of label that describes the content of a web page, blog post, or article. By tagging your content with descriptive keywords, you allow other people to see at a glance whether your content is relevant to them or not. These label tags also help the search engines and social networking sites categorize your tagged content.
